Nikel, Russia – the most miserable place I’ve ever been.
The industry that once made the city booming, is now destroying it. All vegetation around the city centre has died. Nikel is located just 7 kilometers from the boarder to Norway and emit as much as five times as much sulfur as Norway combined.
