The Norwegian cheerleaders in Viqueens are among the best in Europe and are currently competing in the european championship. Here are some photos of them to a story I recently did for VG.
During the last two years, Maria (83) and her neighbors has lived in a bomb shelter in Eastern-Ukraine. While the war rages on above them, they have fled their homes and found refuge beneath the ground.
– I miss the sun. After two years you miss the sun, Maria Ivanova Katsjenka told us.
We also visited the remains of Donetsk International Airport which was one of the most modern airport in the whole region when it was finished in 2012. Now it's just an empty shell, with heavy fighting going on between the Russian-backed rebels and the Ukrainian army.The story was first published in Dagbladet Magasinet.
