As of March 2021 I work as a Middle East reporter for the Norwegian newspaper VG and I’m now based in Beirut, Lebanon.

I’m a visual journalist and I work with stills, video and text, in addition to interactive storytelling.

I mainly work on my own independent projects, but also on assignment for clients such as VG, Aftenposten and The New York Times. My work has been published in a broad spectre of outlets such as The Guardian, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, Aftenposten, VG. I am very versatile and can take on most assignments. My work mainly focus on humanitarian issues, conflict and challenges in our society. 

I also teach photography, journalism and visual storytelling at schools such as the Oslo Metropolitan University and Bilder Nordic school of Photography, in addition to frequently giving presentations and lectures at photo festivals and a wide range of other arenas.

In 2014 I was awarded Picture of the Year in Norway, and in 2017 I was named by Forbes Magazine to one of 30 young media entrepreneurs “defining the ever-shifting world of news and content." In 2019 I was awarded Freelancer of the Year in Norway.

Since 2017 I have also been a board member of the Norwegian Journalist Union.
